Terms and Conditions
Last updated: September 2026
Welcome to UTWÖ Studio. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website and, where applicable, inquiries, orders, design services and products provided by UTWÖ Studio. By using this website, submitting an inquiry, approving a proposal, or placing an order with UTWÖ Studio, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
CUSTOM WORK
UTWÖ Studio specializes in custom and made-to-order work. Designs, materials, dimensions, production methods, quantities, finishes and timelines are determined individually for each project and may be further detailed in a proposal, estimate, invoice or written agreement. Because of the custom nature of our work, pricing shown in previous projects, social media, editorial features or other materials does not guarantee pricing for future commissions.
QUOTES & PRICING
Quotes are based on the information available at the time they are prepared and are valid for the period stated in the proposal or quote. Changes to quantities, specifications, materials, artwork, scope, production methods, shipping requirements or timeline may result in additional charges.
Applicable taxes, shipping, duties, customs fees and other charges are additional unless expressly included in writing.
PAYMENTS
Payment schedules are established individually for each project and will be stated in the applicable proposal or invoice.
Production will not begin until all required deposits or payments have been received.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, deposits and payments made toward custom design, sourcing, development or production are non-refundable once work has begun or materials have been ordered.
DESIGN & REVISIONS
Where design services are included, the number of concepts and revisions may be defined in the individual proposal.
Additional revisions, changes requested after approval, or changes outside the originally agreed scope may incur additional design or production fees.
UTWÖ Studio reserves the right to determine whether a requested change constitutes a revision or a change in scope.
CLIENT APPROVAL
Clients are responsible for carefully reviewing all proofs before approval, including spelling, grammar, dates, names, addresses, quantities, dimensions, colors, layouts and other project details.
Once a design or proof has been approved, the client accepts responsibility for the approved content. Changes requested afterward may require additional fees and may affect the production timeline.
UTWÖ Studio is not responsible for errors contained in client-approved artwork or proofs.
MATERIALS & HANDMADE VARIATION
Many UTWÖ pieces involve specialty materials, handmade processes and techniques that naturally produce slight variations from piece to piece. Colors may also appear differently between digital screens, proofs and physical materials. Paper, fabric, foil, metal, acrylic, natural materials and other specialty finishes may vary slightly between production batches.
These characteristics are inherent to custom and handcrafted production and are not considered defects.
PRODUCTION & TIMING
Production timelines are estimates based on the scope of the project and information available when the order is confirmed.
Timelines begin only after all required payments, final artwork, information and approvals have been received.
Client delays may result in corresponding production or delivery delays. Changes to an approved project may also require the timeline to be revised. Rush production may be available for an additional fee but is not guaranteed unless confirmed by UTWÖ Studio in writing.
SHIPPING & DELIVERY
UTWÖ Studio takes reasonable care in preparing orders for shipment. Delivery dates provided by carriers are estimates unless a guaranteed service has specifically been purchased.
Once an order has been transferred to a shipping carrier, circumstances such as carrier delays, weather, customs processing, incorrect delivery information or other events outside UTWÖ Studio’s reasonable control may affect delivery.
Clients are responsible for providing complete and accurate shipping information.
International clients are responsible for any applicable customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees or other charges imposed by the destination country unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Any visible shipping damage should be documented immediately upon receipt, including photographs of the packaging and affected pieces, and reported to UTWÖ Studio promptly so that we may evaluate the issue and, where applicable, assist with a carrier claim.
RETURNS, CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
Because UTWÖ Studio creates custom, personalized and made-to-order products, custom orders are final sale and generally cannot be returned or exchanged.
If a project is cancelled before production begins, any refund will depend on work already completed, design time incurred, materials ordered and other non-recoverable project costs. Deposits are non-refundable.
Once custom materials have been ordered or production has begun, payments attributable to those services and costs are non-refundable. If an item arrives with a production defect attributable to UTWÖ Studio, please contact us promptly with photographs and details. We will review the issue and determine an appropriate remedy, which may include repair, replacement, reproduction or another reasonable resolution depending on the circumstances.
CLIENT-SUPPLIED ARTWORK & MATERIALS
Clients are responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to provide and authorize the use of any logos, photographs, illustrations, fonts, trademarks, artwork, text or other materials supplied to UTWÖ Studio.
By providing such materials, the client represents that their use for the project does not infringe the intellectual-property or other rights of any third party.
The client agrees to be responsible for claims arising from materials they supplied or specifically instructed UTWÖ Studio to reproduce, except to the extent caused by UTWÖ Studio’s own unauthorized use.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all original concepts, designs, artwork, illustrations, prototypes, production files, templates and other creative work developed by UTWÖ Studio remain the intellectual property of UTWÖ Studio until all applicable fees have been paid.
Payment for a finished product does not automatically transfer ownership of underlying working files, production methods, templates, source files or proprietary processes.
Any transfer or license of intellectual-property rights must be agreed upon separately in writing.
PORTFOLIO & PUBLICATION
Unless confidentiality or usage restrictions have been agreed upon in writing, UTWÖ Studio may photograph completed work and use images of its own creative work for portfolio, website, social media, editorial, award submission and promotional purposes after the relevant event, launch or project has been made public.
We will not intentionally disclose confidential information provided to us for a project.
Clients requiring confidentiality, embargoes, white-label production or restrictions on publication should notify UTWÖ Studio before the project begins so that appropriate terms can be agreed upon in writing.
SAMPLES & PROTOTYPES
Samples and prototypes are intended to demonstrate the proposed design, construction, material or production technique. Final production pieces may contain reasonable variations associated with materials, manufacturing and handmade processes.
Prototype, sample and development fees are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed in writing.
CREATIVE & PRODUCTION DEVELOPMENT
Certain custom projects require experimentation, testing or development of new production methods.
While UTWÖ Studio will use reasonable professional efforts to achieve the agreed creative direction, not every experimental technique or material combination will necessarily produce the originally anticipated result.
Where necessary, we may recommend reasonable adjustments to materials, construction or production methods in order to preserve the integrity, functionality or quality of the finished piece. Material changes that materially alter the approved design or price will be communicated to the client for approval.
THIRD-PARTY VENDORS
UTWÖ Studio may work with trusted third-party manufacturers, fabricators, printers, craftspeople, couriers or other production partners when appropriate for a project.
Unless specifically agreed otherwise, the use of outside production partners does not change the client’s contractual relationship with UTWÖ Studio.
FORCE MAJEURE
UTWÖ Studio will not be responsible for delays or failure to perform caused by circumstances reasonably outside our control, including natural disasters, severe weather, transportation interruptions, carrier delays, labor disruptions, governmental actions, supply shortages, equipment failures beyond reasonable prevention, or other extraordinary events.
Where possible, we will communicate affected timelines and work toward a reasonable solution.

All website content, including text, photographs, graphics, designs, branding and other original material, is owned by or licensed to UTWÖ Studio and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed or commercially used without prior written permission.
References, inspiration and examples displayed on the website do not constitute a promise that an identical product, material or result can be reproduced.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, UTWÖ Studio will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from the use of this website or our products and services.
To the extent permitted by law, UTWÖ Studio’s aggregate liability arising from a particular project will not exceed the amount actually paid to UTWÖ Studio for the portion of the project giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
GOVERNING LAW
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute relating to these Terms or services provided by UTWÖ Studio will be subject to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts located in California, unless otherwise required by applicable law or agreed in writing.
CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
UTWÖ Studio may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version published on this website at the time of use will display its most recent revision date.
Project-specific agreements, proposals or contracts may contain additional or different terms. In the event of a conflict, the terms of the applicable signed agreement or accepted proposal will control for that project.
